    1. Another way revenue is generated is by charging a EUR 0.05 connection fee for every free call. I live in France. After the free trial I bought EUR 10 of prepaid fees. The connection fee is shown each time you dial a free call. After 3, my balance is now 9.85. The problem is this - nowhere until this point is there any mention of a connection fee, in fact all the advertising states the complete opposite. So it is a case of blatantly dishonest advertising and consumer fraud. Les HComment by Les Henderson — February 7, 2007 @ 11:18 am
    2. There’s a connection if you make a call back. For direct dialing, there should be no connection fee.Anyway, I have to say the customer care of this company really sucks. Last time, my accounts were suspended for a long time. They told me that some body used my credit card or something to add credit. That’s the only thing they told me after a bunch of my emails. Now, my accounts are suspened again. And they never ever respond to me. I don’t even know what happened.Comment by alen — February 7, 2007 @ 9:43 pm
    3. Thanks for that info, you’re right. Good luck with your own issues, I know the problem from other experiences.Comment by Les H — February 9, 2007 @ 10:37 am
    4. For the longest time I am using tringotel VoIP service because they are so much cheaper than any other service, and the shipping charges are absolutely free and I guess tringotel have merged with Sunrocket.Comment by Aparna Rane — March 17, 2007 @ 5:07 am
    5. I am using Betamax voip services for quite a long time. But recently they have stared fraudulent tricks with their customers. My accounts with http://www.voipcheap.com, http://www.sparvoip.com and http://www.justvoip.com have been blocked without any reason. I have enough credit balance in all these accounts. But still they have stopped outgoing calls from these acoounts. This same thing happened with some other people I know. But surprising a couple of my friends informed me that their accounts are operating well. I don’t know why the betamax people are doing this type for selective fraud !!!!Does anyone know how to get my money back from these people ??

    8. I am using VOIP Betamax since long ago and I AM VERY SETISFY with the services it provides us. But most of the time i am being charged without my attempt. Is there any way to find out why i am being charged though I am not purchasing any credit? Below are the details of purchasing Betamax Credit using my VISA Card. Is it automatically charged by BETAMAX or somebody else is misusing my credit? I think its a very seriou matter to me and if somebody else is misusing my credit, better please blacklist my VISA Card for any type of BETAMAX services in future.1. 04/04/2007 04/06/2007 Purchase - BETAMAX VOIP CREDIT COLOGNE DE 74741997095043004372043 ($14.11)2.04/11/2007 Purchase - BETAMAX VOIP CREDIT COLOGNE DE 710108624973 ($29.11)

    12. we’re using voipbuster since 1.5 ur (from NL). Paying no problem at all, first through bank account now via Ideal & bank. Freedays now appear within a few minits on the screen. Costs 11.70 euro per 120 days…..
We use an ATA and a normal phone: the qualtity is very good, even to Canada. It is much better then using the PC (echo).
I do not recogize the problems here, I hope VB and others do something about it, as they seem to pay for it.
Ok, it is cheap, so the service may bel ess than other companies, but still…..Comment by andre@home — August 26, 2007 @ 5:16 pm

    14. I’ve been using VoipStunt, InternetCalls and now DialNow.com for a few years now. Have never had any billing, spam or credit card problems with them. I have I’ve set up 3 WRTP54G, 2 RTP300 and 3 PAP2 ATAs on one voipstunt account so my whole family shares my 300 free minutes/ week. (ATAs can share the same account and make simultaneous calls, but soft client can’t) DialNow.com is used to call my nephews cell phones in South Africa. Rceently my cousin w/friends were in Belize which has exorbitant dial out rates I set up my trixbox to recognize their cell#, automatically call back and open a dialtone… their calls cost about $.13/min. (My only complaint… I would have liked free incoming Netherlands number so family there could call us for free.)Comment by Dave Tap — September 29, 2007 @ 1:10 am
    15. There is more to this company than you know. Today I called my bank because of a debit to my acct. I was unfamiliar with. Seems this company somehow got their hands on my credit card number and charged me for service I DON’T HAVE?? I use cell phones and don’t find that even a regular home phone is a necessity, yet oddly without even the software on my pc to use such a service I was charged for it anyway. Thankfully my bank intends to press charges for fraud. Kudos to you Betamax !! I assume you will be hearing from the states atty. gen. office very soon.Comment by Fran A. — November 6, 2007 @ 12:42 am

    18. I had a serious problems too with Betamax company. They blocked all my accounts without any reason, the same like many many people. I live in germany, I will try to inform the media about this company (Betamax is german comp.), so that they can raise this issue. I believe that the company gain money not from the calls but from cheating people.Comment by Ali — December 15, 2007 @ 4:16 am

    20. Betamax block 5 my accounts with significant balance, tech support is not responding at all. I can log in to the account but I can’t do anything. What a poor company. Is there way make this company to pay for things they doing?Comment by Andrey — December 19, 2007 @ 3:11 pm
    21. Which method you use for paying? use paypal. with paypal you can refund your money back if the service stops or you are not getting what you are promised of. But becareful!, BETAMAX will add your paypal account to their “black list” so that you will NOT be able tp pay with this account anymore!Your problem s the problem of thousands in the world.Comment by Ali — December 19, 2007 @ 8:59 pm

    25. Please Do you all something this is not a solution to put your message every week about your problems with Betamax. my point of view is that when you are on right side then fight Contact your Verbracher Zentrale (in Your city)with all copies of INVOICE your BALANCE DETAIL n convey them your complaints. whatever which Language you speak English or German but main thing is that VZ or Lawer must know.

    27. I live in the US and don’t use VOIP but my Visa just got charged 25.5 EUR and a foreign transaction fee by Betamax. Don’t know how they got my credit card number or if someone else used it to buy VOIP credit. I have not even used the visa outside the US! It is a big problem closing a card due to fraud.Comment by Phil — January 25, 2008 @ 9:01 pm
